At GraphicWind ("we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy details how data is handled in connection with the ScreenLite desktop application for Windows and related software services.
1. Local-First Architecture & Storage Guarantee
Zero Server Uploads of Screen Content
ScreenLite does not upload, transmit, sync, or store your screen recordings, screenshots, canvas annotations, or microphone audio on GraphicWind servers or any third-party cloud. All video encodings, snapshots, clipboard data, and exported files exist strictly on your local computer's physical drive. We do not inspect, monitor, or have access to the content you record or capture.
Stored Locally On Your Device
Video recordings (MP4/MKV), screenshot captures (PNG/JPG/SVG), magnifier pixel data, live annotations, drawings, and custom project exports.
Collected Only For Licensing / Orders
Customer billing email address, invoice identifier, unique license key, anonymous machine hardware identifier (for multi-device limit verification), and OS version.
2. Information We Collect
We deliberately minimize data collection to the absolute bare minimum required to deliver software purchases, activate ScreenLite Pro licenses, and provide technical customer support:
- Email Address: Provided by you during purchase or support inquiries, used solely to email you your ScreenLite Pro license key, invoice, and respond to support tickets.
- Order & Transaction Metadata: The date and time of purchase, currency, regional country code, and order ID provided by our payment partner Paddle.
- License Verification Data: When activating ScreenLite Pro, the application transmits your entered license key and an anonymized machine identifier to our licensing server.
3. Payment Information Processed by Paddle
ScreenLite software transactions are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited / Paddle Payments), who acts as our Merchant of Record:
- Financial Information: When you purchase ScreenLite Pro (₹299 one-time payment), your payment details (such as credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, expiration dates, UPI IDs, or PayPal login credentials) are entered directly into Paddle’s secure checkout environment.
- Zero Financial Storage by GraphicWind: GraphicWind never receives, processes, or stores your credit card numbers or sensitive payment details on our servers.
- Paddle is fully PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant and handles all global sales tax, VAT, and invoice compliance in accordance with their privacy policy.
4. Licensing & Machine Data
When you activate ScreenLite Pro using your license key, the software contacts the ScreenLite licensing server to validate the authenticity of the key. The information communicated includes:
- License Key: The alphanumeric key provided with your order.
- Anonymized Machine Identifier (GUID): A one-way cryptographic hash of your system's hardware configuration (such as motherboard UUID or machine ID). This does not contain your computer name, personal files, user directory, or identifying identity.
- Operating System Information: Basic OS build details (e.g. Windows 11 x64) to confirm system compatibility.
- Activation Status & Timestamp: Used to enforce fair-use device activation limits and prevent unauthorized key cloning or piracy.
5. Website Data & Cookies
When visiting the GraphicWind website (graphicwind.com):
- Standard Web Analytics: We use Google Analytics to monitor aggregated website traffic trends, page views, and software download metrics. IP addresses are anonymized.
- Cookies: Standard functional and analytical cookies may be placed on your browser to remember preferences and optimize website performance. For more information, please review our general Cookie Policy.
6. How We Use Collected Data
The limited data collected is utilized exclusively for:
- Issuing, delivering, and authenticating your ScreenLite Pro license key.
- Facilitating license recovery if you switch PCs or reinstall Windows.
- Enforcing device activation limits and preventing fraudulent key duplication.
- Responding to your customer support requests and technical inquiries.
- Fulfilling legal, accounting, and tax compliance obligations.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We work only with reputable third-party partners to support our software operations:
- Paddle: Payment processing, fraud prevention, global tax management, and automated receipt issuance.
- Licensing Server Host: Secure cloud infrastructure used exclusively to run the encrypted ScreenLite licensing validation API.
- Google Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized website visitor statistics on graphicwind.com.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
8. Data Security Measures
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect licensing records:
- TLS Encryption: All license activation requests between the ScreenLite desktop client and our licensing servers use modern TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption.
- Secure Server Access: Backend licensing systems are protected by multi-factor authentication, firewalls, and strict access controls.
- No Content Exposure: Because screen captures and recordings are never transmitted to our servers, your recordings are entirely immune to server-side breaches.
9. Data Retention Policy
We retain customer email addresses, order IDs, and associated license activation hashes for as long as your ScreenLite Pro perpetual license remains valid. This ensures that you can always contact support to recover your license key, reactivate your software, or request receipt reprints.
10. Your Rights & Data Control
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as under the General Data Protection Regulation / GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA), you have specific rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal information (email, order record, active device count) associated with your license.
- Right to Rectification: You may request correction of an erroneous email address linked to your purchase.
- Right to Erasure / Deletion: You may request deletion of your email and licensing records from our system. (Note: Deletion of license records will deactivate your ability to validate or reactivate ScreenLite Pro in the future).
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product enhancements, legal requirements, or operational changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision date. Any material revisions will be reflected transparently on this page.
